Copying and Revisions

To try new ideas, test changes, or improve existing pipelines (your own or someone else’s), you can create a duplicate of a pipeline in Via Foundry using the Duplicate Pipeline button on the pipeline page.

When a pipeline:

• Is set to public, or
• Has been used/edited by other group members,

you are not allowed to modify that same revision directly. This protects existing analyses and ensures reproducibility.

Duplicating a pipeline allows you to:

• Make changes and improvements safely
• Experiment with new parameters or modules
• Iterate on pipeline design

—all without affecting the original pipeline or other users’ work. This is the recommended way to evolve pipelines while keeping the original version intact.
